I rarely have second person over for 2p game, mostly it's myself. That leaves port 3 and 4 completely unused. I thought of something: why didn't anyone offer a memory card only plug as it'd have been cheaper and a lot smaller than a whole controller. Since I can access all 8 memory ports in DC menu to shuffle files as needed.
I am wondering if anyone knows if the maple chip can be substituted or something. I got a few 3rd party controllers that just won't work (won't read buttons, directions, or memory port) that I can rip out the memory card port and the cable. I'd need to figure out how to interface the memory card port to the controller cable.
TIA for any suggestion!
