I'm using 1.0.2a, same problem. This is quite an annoying problem, but I appreciate the help. I just don't know what could be wrong, I wish I could get a more detailed error report.

I get the same "missing pathspec" error when running like I suggested but I can make CD images fine. Try closing all your open programs in the system tray?

I thought that would work, because I didn't even consider I had Daemon Tools open...but same problem.

I think I'll try this on another computer in the house and see how that goes. But time for sleep right now.

Why is this not working for me? The image is created correctly so that it runs on my DC, but my ROMs don't show up under the select game menu. Do they need to be extracted before the image is written? I have them all as zipped files, but do i need to change this?

Did you create a ROM list (it's optional, yeah, but it's preferred)? Use the program given in the first post to create a file that will make it easier to read all of the ROMs on the disc. Perhaps they are there, but it's just taking a long time to read them. Creating a ROM list should help to solve that problem (if that's the case).

A little update on my part. I tried BootDreams on another computer, with the same problem, and I still cannot figure out the issue.
However, I tried DC Factory, and that program made the ISO with no problems at all. I wonder what sort of conflict there was that would cause only BD not to work, but at least I'm playing Lufia II on my DC :D .
So, if anyone else is having problems making an ISO with BD, I would first suggest trying solutions already on this topic, or if nothing works, give DC Factory a try. It only works with dreamsnes 0.9.7 though, but I have no problem with that.

At least you got it working. :) DCFactory though isn't updated anymore unfortunately. I suggest trying Selfboot since it doesn't have any game\version specific scripts. It works like BootDreams but uses bin2boot and different methods to create the ISO. Good luck with it. You may need to put your game folder in C:\Selfboot since it doesn't work (for me) if your folder has spaces in it i.e. C:\Documents and Settings.

Hm, yeah I think I may try that. All but ran out of CD-Rs though, heh. I wonder if there is any major difference between dreamsnes version 0.9.7 and 0.9.8? Would it be worth it to try SB on 0.9.8?

From the changes log:
Changes since DreamSNES 0.9.7:
------------------------------

o SA-1 emulation fixed (Super Mario RPG now works (again))

o C4 emulation implemented (MegaMan X2/X3 now works)

o Putting a file called "NO_ROMS.HERE" in a directory prevents it from
being scanned for roms.

o Added in game menu that lets you choose among other things to reset
the game or jump to the next or previous game on the CD.

o Fixed sprites in hires mode with transparencies on. Fixes Tokimeki
Memorial.

o Fixed memory map for Super Dante RPG maker.

o Improved buffer handling in mpeg player.

o New locales: Charnego and Romanian.

Hello!

I created my TAO image and I was wondering, what should I do to burn it? I could only put the image on nero to create a disc (like a normal simple disc) or do I have to do something else so it can work?

Thanks :)

Open Nero, goto File Burn Image then select the CD image.

Anyone still use DC Factory? The last time I used it was last August and now, I'm getting some "path not found" (microsoft vb script) error before it starts to make the .cdi. :|

Not many.

The problem is probably that the path of your selfboot folder has a space in it.

Now I feel like a complete idiot. I was thinking something was wrong with my pc. Thank you, chap.

Could be bad settings. You have a couple options:

- burn the CDI with BootDreams (no settings to change)
- burn the selfboot folder using the CDRecord GUI (audio\data or data\data)
- burn the CDI with Alcohol 120%

I keep having a problem as well. When I put it in the Dramcast or the emulator, after it shows the Dreamcast logo, it just goes to the main menu. I do everything suggested in the tutorial and I use SelfBoot to make it self booting. And I also try it with BootDreams. I make a cdi image and burn it in DiscJuggler with the following settings:
Mode: Mode 1/DVD Offset: 0 Bytes
Boack: 2352 TOC: CD-ROM/DVD
And All misc. options turned off. All at 4X
But it always doesn't work after it's burned.
I have a life........I bought it on eBay.
