Spectrum emulator problem

Post by retrofan »

Hello everyone,

I love the emulators for Dreamcast, especially for 8 bit computers and have a question regarding the Ishmair ZX Spectrum emulator:
[link removed]

Emulator is good but I donot like the fact that the author edited the main screen message "@1982 Sinclair Reasearch Ltd" and put your name in it (@2001 Ishmair Research Ltd).
The screen now doesnt look authentic and I would like to change that part and go back to the original state, but I dont know how.
I tried with a hex editor to edit 1st_read.bin but I couldnt find this message.
Perhaps the spectrum rom is somehow encrypted so it can not be found or is something else, I do not know.
Would anyone could help me on this?

1st_read is a binary image compiled and linked from source, that is then scrambled so that it isnt destroyed when read into ram upon boot, so straight hex editing said string isnt going to be possible. You will need to work from source at least.
Still Thinking!~~
