Hi,
I am running epsxe on my pc without a cd rom drive, and because it doesnt have one it causes the bios to crash if you ever try to run it. I have been trying to find sw to emulate a cdrom being there, but daemon tools lite doesnt work, alcohol 120 keeps crashing on install, and magic disc isnt working.
Im on windows 8. anyone know a good a good virtual CD program that would work in this respect? A lot of programs will mount an ISO like a fake drive, but wont just create a virtual drive.
thanks

Re: EPSXE - need virtual drive
Windows 8 has its own built-in mounting software. Just right-click on the ISO, choose mount and it creates a virtual drive for it. Not that you really need to do that, though, as ePSXe can read ISO files just fine without the need for a CD drive. Just change the CD-ROM plugin to something that will accept a file and not a disc drive.

Re: EPSXE - need virtual drive
What Mel said, EPSXE can easily read image files. Just make sure the plugin is set to that and not to a physical drive. The required plugins should be included with the emulator.
