Do you think we could raise enough money to get rand to code us a psx emulator for the dc it would not have to be at the lvl of bleemcast just a standard emulator he is a programmer right we could raise a good amount of money to pay him with then make it freeware

(let the flamin began)

I think it was said before, But it seems that Sony would probably sue Rand if he was to ever release another PSX Emu for the DC or any other console. So it seems unlikely that this is ever gonna happen :(

Consider that you would have to raise enough money to sustain two people's living for a year. Also consider that the reason Bleem mainly went out of business is because of the million(s) in debt they racked up in their Sony fight. Now finally consider that the reason they didn't get bailed out by the three discs is because those discs didn't sell millions of copies because few people still own/care about Dreamcast, and even fewer bothered to buy one.

Bleemcast was a brilliant idea in the Spring of 2000, but by Summer 2001 when it could finally be released the ambition was scaled down and the market had changed drastically. It's sadly not an uncommon thing, especially in the tech sector.

I dont think this is the case. The case that Sony had against Bleem was considering Bleem making profit off Sonys work. That wouldnt happen if they released it for free. And plus, what about all the other emulators that are out there? Neither Sega nor Nintendo has sued any of the hundreds of emu authors out there.
