Hello I would like to use cheats in nxdoom. I have 2 questions. Can I add cheats to the modlist so that they are preloaded when the game starts? Where can I find a list of cheats. Could you also give me an example of a cheat in the modlist line to make sure I do it correctly.

You could try this if you're on Windows:

-turbo and -warp ?? (episode number and level) are the only cheats you can use on the command line.

Can a deh file allow you to have some sort of cheats? I'd like to have some levels load with all weapons and a lot of health etc...

No, don't think so. I think they're for modifying how the game works not really useful for cheats.

Hmm that sucks, I was hoping to get some cheats working somehow. I guess I'll have to resort to the console commands. Can we use the keyboard and bring the console down in nxdoom?

I don't know how to bring the console down - if it's ~ then the console doesn't work.

Yeah you can edit/create deh files to make cheats, like have your weapons fire super fast, or start with 999 health etc.

I'm bumping this thread to let people know what I've found to work.

From the command line in the Windows NxDoom, or pre-entered in the modlist on the Dreamcast NxDoom:

-fast -warp ##

This makes monsters attack often, increases the speed of demons and spectres, and makes demonic fireballs faster. It requires the warp parameter (-warp) to be effective.

-playdemo xxx.lmp

Replace the "xxx.lmp" with the name of the demo lump name, but it requires the lump to be merged into a wad as single file loading isn't supported by NxDoom.

-turbo %

Replace the "%" with a number. The range is 10 -> 400 (10 = 10%, 400 = 400%).

-warp ##

In Doom replace "##" with the episode number followed by the level number (## = 11 = Episode 1, Level 1), and in Doom 2 replace the ## with the level number (## = 11 = level 11 of 32)

These cheats require a keyboard to enter during gameplay, and will not work in the menu:

IDFA

All items except for keys.

IDKFA

All items including keys.

IDCLEV##

Replace the "##" with the level you wish to warp to (see -warp above).

IDCLIP

Toggles no clipping mode (walk through walls).

IDDQD

Toggles God/Degreelessness mode.

I had to use the warp for some of the mods in my collection cause not all of them started on the first level.
