Some time ago someone started a intersting project, the Qontra project.
The project is freeze ? What hapened ?
How about make a team to finalize this ? With the permission of the original autor of course !
A 2d shooter platformer quake mod as the original contra nes games !

Moi started it, but IIRC he stopped working on it. From what I remember he was using TargetQuake as a base.

IMO TAoV would be much better suited as a base for something like this, and given the current state of the DC scene, when you want something done it's better to do it yourself. Tyne is busy with TAoV, I moved on from Quake, and the other modders like Moi, Ajay and TheDumbAss aren't active here anymore. Dunno what linlinlol and Code-Red are doing.

TAOV is bloated. 2DCam would be a better base

You're pretty much right. I've added so much code specifically for TAoV that you'd take more time figuring what to strip out and have it compile than it'd take to just write your own code into 2DCam and use that. Also, I may eventually go back and update 2DCam with some additional fixes and updates, however it's still really really useful as a base.

Thanks for reply people !

I have really intersting to do it but i don't have much experience with quake (+ experinece with hl\cstrike)
and the biggest problem is find time to do it alone.
I was thinking about form a team !
However i will do a small map and test with 2dcam and targetquake.
