well caboose on some dc controller (like all of mine) the little bugger doesnt hold the cord anymore. it gets worn out fairly easily. so this is more of a case of "modders boredom" then anything.

uh... just get a small screwdrive (flat head eyeglass repair one or somthing) and pry it off. it's not on there too permanent. it's basically just a plastic sticker.

well i actually scavenged old controller wire. nothing too heavy duty. this also works well if you make a hole from the top and flatten the led.

well what else is there to say other than cut the chord near the plug on the inside of the controller put the wires through the hole then twist them back together making sure none of them are touching then wrap it up with some elctrical tape. or (i just did this) use a safty pin to remove the little...

help finding a ic (intigrated circuit)chip

i'm looking for the chip used here i know that it's the 74HCT244 ic which has 20 pins... BUT i know that radio shack does not have one. is this a rare ic or somthing? p.s. please dont give me online buying sites as i have no method to getting my cash online.

cant drill the side either. you gotta do the top. after flattening the led of course. (btw i've done this mod in the way i just explained)

4th pin from the left on the bottom and 2nd from the right on the top. the one on top is neg and the one on the bottom is the pos.

Look what i made :D i'll submit it to devcast.

:-D little update. i re routed the power that was suppose to go to the little blue light to the micro mini led that i put into the drive. blinks like the blue one would when you open and close the drive.

well i just got done modding my ps2. my friends were always complaining about needing to completely disconnect their dvd player from the tv to hook up my ps2. so i made it so we can just take the plugs from the dvd player and hook the ps2 directly into the tv. this also helps because i dont need to ...

uh.... there is no ribbon going to the gdrom. the connection to the gdrom is under the thing itself. the only white ribbon in the entire dreamcast is the controller board to motherboard connection. should just slide back into place with your fingers.
