Maybe a net auditing tool can be useful? (like wireshark). If the mac version runs fine and the linux don't, a comparision between the two sequences can isolate the problem.

Re: Dreamcast: Street Fighter 3 Question?
sf3 is pretty good on dreamcast, i play the arcade version and no noticeable differences exists. In fact, a good arcade player need to adjust to environment conditions like the smoke of the cigarrettes, fat players (in small arcades they uses the 75% of space), bad buttons, destroyed joysticks and t...

Re: Open Sonic port for Dreamcast Released
Hey, you can get the libraries at http://www.dreamcast.es We finally found some source code lost on some HDD. http://dreamcast.es/news.php?readmore=284 it is not the newest version and might have some bugs, but it works. Until Chui pops up this is the best we could find. I, as well as others, appre...

Re: Open Sonic port for Dreamcast Released
Agreed, but, that stance may be a bit too optimistic. The GPL itself assumes trust in no one to "do the right thing." It quite literally forces your decision in whether or not you want to provide the source. That said, in communities where people can usually be trusted to "do the rig...

Re: Open Sonic port for Dreamcast Released
OneThirty8, i know what is Free Software, i agree with Richard Stallman about that every human knowledge must be free (in fact i'm Marxist), but this is not a conversation about copyrights (or copylefts) but just a flame war that Quzar and BlackAura has against Dreamcast.es people, i don't know why ...

the port was started by mekanaizer and then continued by chui (as far as i know). I think that some kind of demo/beta was included in a dreamcast.es compillation... ...searching... ...yes, there is a compillation with it, it's the retromadrid compillation, here's a link to the post: http://www.dcemu...

1) Time travel (to the future).Quzar wrote:The readme says 'or compile your own with the sourcecode', how might anyone outside of dciberia do so without allergro libs?
2) Port yourself Allegro.
3) Ask them. They're not so evil.
4) Roll on the floor. Sometimes it works (specially when you're in flames).

Re: ADPCM
there's a wav2adpcm utility in kos (directory "utils"), i haven't tested enough, but seems to work. It converts a 16 bits RIFF wave to the specific Yamaha ADPCM that Dreamcast uses.

i've got two responses from the author: It's using the KGLX (PVR OpenGL) library from Kallistios coupled with the compiled normal & dynamic lighting arrays from CubicVR's SH4 Optimized lighting. Currently only point lights are supported but there is no limit on the number of lights. The Po...
