Re: CompactFlash drive controller for Apple II

Well, it doesn't require an active connection to another computer; once your data is on the SD card, it's fully autonomous, plus it can store as many disk images as you want on the card, where you can switch between them at will using the onboard controls. It also supports the Lisa (because we all h...

Re: Dreamcast classic DUX 1.5 gets Collector's Edition rerel

Oh, look. It's Dux. Again. I really want to be supportive, but I feel like this game has kind of overstayed its welcome with remakes and remixes and updated versions. Especially when there are other games out there (looking at you, Kraut Buster... what the hell, ngdev?) just begging for a DC release.

Re: CompactFlash drive controller for Apple II

Understandable. I bought a Mac Color Classic a few years ago that had both the "Mystic" upgrade and the VGA mod, but I was only able to get it because the seller was asking WAY less than what such a setup typically goes for. And that was shortly before my employer at the time went belly-up...

Re: CompactFlash drive controller for Apple II

So I got a Floppy Emu, and I've been using it with my Mac Plus for the last day or so. I've used it both as a virtual floppy drive and as a floppy-port hard drive. It's a bit slow (as expected for something on the floppy port), but it's really easy to set up and it works great. It also uses the same...

start changing the conversation about what government is and should be This is not what the government is, and it's your idea of what it should be. Not that I'm saying your opinion is invalid or wrong, but if you want to change the conversation so that the baseline is that the government is what yo...

Re: DCEmu Decides the 2016 Presidential Election

No, I think that sums up the basic situation pretty well. I'm still voting for Sanders in the primary, though, because fuck self-fulfilling prophecies. And I think it's long past time for us to start undoing the right's past several decades of demonizing the very concept of being liberal or progress...

Re: DCEmu Decides the 2016 Presidential Election

Okay, last night was just absurd. The smug asshole who looks like a cartoon villain and is despised by his own party wins on the Republican side (oh, wait--there are TWO of those?), and the Democratic side can't even make up its damn mind.

Remind me why Iowa gets to go first, again?

I'll be honest... seeing all the crazy stuff people have come up with is kinda making me want to collect more vintage computers.

Re: CompactFlash drive controller for Apple II

Something like this might be even more desirable: http://www.bigmessowires.com/floppy-emu/ It emulates a 5.25" floppy drive, 3.5" floppy drive, or floppy-port hard drive and can be configured to work with Apple II, Lisa, or classic Macs. It's got a screen and selector buttons so you can ch...

Re: Boney's Backlog - 2015

Paper Mario finished, Bowser was a complete pushover but the game overall is pretty damn good. Thousand year door is next on the list. Thousand Year Door is the best of the Paper Mario series. Sticker Star just felt like more of the same, and Super Paper Mario never quite decides whether it wants t...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...

Interesting. Our TV is an Android TV device itself (a Sony XBR 850c), but Sony hasn't been particularly forthcoming about the specs. I have to imagine Dolphin being pretty taxing, though. To add to the confusion, Sony lists the TV as having an "X1 processor," but that's a reference to thei...

Re: CompactFlash drive controller for Apple II

I'd love to see how far you can go in tricking out an Apple II. VGA card, sound card with speech synthesizer, mass storage controller, SD adapter, Internet connection, massive RAM upgrade, maybe even one of those janky old Apple graphics tablets. And if you want to cheat, someone made a version of a...

Re: Does the wii u require the gamepad.

I found that really inaccessible cause these are like such long series with their own history and fan base... It's like Star Wars or Star Trek. People who didn't grow up with the franchise are like why bother. We simply can't relate to the madness. :what: ...I have honestly never heard anyone make ...
