Re: bitmaster's IDE/G2 interface aka DREAMCAST HARD DRIVE>!!!
IIRC, the problem with mass-producing an easy GD-ROM replacement is that the connector isn't made anymore. Tooling for connectors is generally pretty damn expensive.

It's a little-known fact that the CDX came bundled with two copies of the best Genesis game ever: Genesis.

Re: New to C++ (simple code confusion)
Ahh.. Well... The whole book is using this program, so I will have to use that program for now! That's normal. C++ itself does not specify any sophisticated I/O framework, just the bare minimum for writing usable programs (console I/O and file I/O). There are many different ideas and standards for ...

That controller is begging to be hacked. As for the system itself, my feeling right now is that I'll think about it in 2-3 years when there's actually a Zelda game on it.

Re: E3 2011 Opinions
The HD MGS bundle is a great idea ruined by only having half the games. Ideally MG and MG2 should also be included, but leaving them out at least sort of makes sense. I wonder how much money Sony is spending to allow that $250 price point. Microsoft needs to stop fucking "reinventing" the ...

What I've heard is that rental stores mostly paid higher prices for early access and/or guaranteed allocations rather than for a rental license. However, what I've heard is probably also US-biased.

Re: Dreamcast question
Thing is: some of them booted past the title screen and then went back to the music screen, while others stayed on the white dreamcast screen before going to that very same music screen. IVE BEEN USING TDK BRAND CD-R'S. When you say "past the title screen", do you mean that the program yo...

Look at ANY law passed for Big Content to "fight commercial piracy" - 99% of those cases wound up against average people, not commercial pirates. Do you have examples? Are you serious? You haven't noticed the tens of thousands of people shaken down for a few thousand to "settle out o...

Re: Nintendo can remotely destroy modified 3DS handhelds
See, I always just assumed that was implied by a legally obtained copy of a piece software, unless otherwise restricted by the license (which I also figured was permissible). I'm not a lawyer, and really don't study this stuff all that much, so yeah... I'm not a lawyer either, but I've had an amate...

Re: Nintendo can remotely destroy modified 3DS handhelds
The point I was trying to make is basically what you said there. Perhaps the way I said it is not particularly clear. The way that I have always interpreted "ownership" of a piece of software is the ownership of the rights to that software (i.e, the one who holds the copyright). When you ...

Re: Nintendo can remotely destroy modified 3DS handhelds
Incidentally, with regard to the license with the software, I actually agree that you are simply licensing it. You do not own the software you use, unless you wrote it. You only have the rights that the copyright holder happens to give to you. Nobody actually "owns the software". That's a...

What's the difference? Most references I've seen either just stick with one term or explicitly say that they're synonyms (e.g. cdrecord/wodim).DanteJay wrote:Try burning DAO and not SAO (disk-at-once, not session-at-once).

It's been a while since I've touched C++. Is it possible that a constructor for an object in MusicSystem is called implicitly and never completes, and commenting out the body of PlaySoundtrack() causes the object (and by extension the constructor call) to be optimized away?

To be honest, I could probably just play it through the iPhone SNES emulator, but making menu selections via a virtual d-pad rather than just touching them seems amazingly awkward. There's a solution to that if someone wanted to implement it (though the best way of doing it - embedding a scripting ...

Re: Sex Now Illegal in Florida
I hope this goes without saying, but it would not be interpreted that way in court. The law clearly treats "persons" and "animals" as different, and in everyday English it's common for "animals" to refer exclusively to non-human animals.

You forgot AB (not surprising since it's rare), which brings it up to 8. Either way, those are really just broad categories that are useful for initial screening in transfusions. There are many more specific variations.cube_b3 wrote:The thing is we have 6 blood types A,B and O (+/-)

It's because maple_dev_status returns a pointer, which can be NULL (if the device passed to it is invalid). Dereferencing NULL is generally a bad idea (Dan Potter actually did it once to demo MMU support by mapping the framebuffer to address 0x00000000, but that was basically done as a joke and shou...
