Re: Alien vs Predator on DC

The old JDuke, which was the source of a lot of ports, had lots of problems that did eventually get sorted out. I'm not sure what the DC SW port was based on, but if it had troubles, it was probably an older version of JDuke. From the readme, it appears to be based on the icculus.org Linux port. Wh...

Re: Alien vs Predator on DC

You must mean something like the Saturn and N64 have? I don't think it would work out, some suggested using the SD cards as ram for some games, but it was deemed to difficult to implement.

Re: What do you use your Dreamcast for nowadays?

I play Commercial and Homebrew games so I voted both, love them so much! You Dreamcast homebrew developers are keeping our favorite system alive, so just showing some very much needed support! The community is really kicking in 2011, much more than in years past! Love you 2, keep the games...

Re: Holly 3D engine for Dreamcast

Some guy over at CubicVR 3D engine forums said he worked on a PC game using this engine, and it turned out pretty good looking. Would be nice if it were ported over to Dreamcast. http://www.cubicvr.org/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=62&func=view&catid=5&id=65&limit=6&l...

Re: Alien vs Predator on DC

There are a number of games I'd like to update on the DC when I get the chance... Doom (my current port uses an older engine) and Duke3D being the two main ones as they're among my favorite games. Wait, are you saying we might get a port of Duke Nukem 3D to Dreamcast too? I hope I didn't misread th...

Re: Alien vs Predator on DC

Yeah, I can see how you are already booked with your many projects everywhere. Wasn't it you who ported Duke Nukem 3D to PSP or am I mistaken? That is an excellent port any way you look at it, too bad the Dreamcast port is only shareware and very buggy with only mouse and keyboard support. Take your...

Re: Other 3D engines?

Wow sorry for the late reply, I had to reformat vista and lost all my old favorites. Pretty much you can drop in some PC maps and then you can edit a few things here and there and have a working game. This thread MIGHT be of some help to you, it explains in a nutshell what you gotta do to get PC mod...

Re: Other 3D engines?

Well, there is a new 3D engine in development here. Please post your support in the Dreamcast port thread. http://www.cubicvr.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=1 Also some people are developing Half-Life mods for Dreamcast, but the engine is pretty limited on what you ca...

DCPlaya 2.0 help!?

Ok guys, so I have FINALLY started using DCplaya from Dreamshell, and I have been pulling my hair out! After figuring out how to add songs to the playlist, I am having problem actually getting anything to play. I know I have searched the interwebs for info documenting how to actually use the damn th...

Re: Alien vs Predator on DC

I know after Chilly gets Hypertension out of the way he can port this awesome FPS to DC. I know he can do it. If he can make Doom have online MP on Dreamcast, I am sure he can get this game ported. @Chilly, have you worked on it at all or is it still on hold till you get your main project ...

Re: I herd you liek half life...and Dreamcast:D

I have played all the Dreamcast Half-Life mods and love them. This is the best looking FPS on Dreamcast, actually, besides Shenmue, this is graphically the best looking game on the system.

Here is a video of it on Dreamcast hardware.

Re: I herd you liek half life...and Dreamcast:D

I know kids that discover the Dreamcast all the time! I moderate a site that has the largest active Dreamcast community anywhere, and I can tell you that I see 10 and 12 year old kids that can't afford a 360, or just want to play a system that needs no nodding to play backups or homebrew. Dreamcast ...

Re: bitmaster's IDE/G2 interface aka DREAMCAST HARD DRIVE>!!!

What about putting an sdiso of the OS on a sd card and launching it via Dreamshell? It would be able to boot without the GDR drive and everybody is happy. With the Dreamshell bios mod, you could have this fully working with no moving parts but the HDD. Anyway, while the SD adapters are no tru...

The guy on the video is like a private eye, he brings up some valid points, but I agree, its a little too late. Anyway, it doesn't matter, he is President, and nothing will change that.
