For the LAST TIME (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Of course it was real all along. The author of DC Divx is the author who brought Divx to the pocket PC. Is that so hard to grasp?

Nyarlathotep, what the author is currently shooting for is not SVCD quiality, but comparable VCD quality. The resolution is not nearly as good, nor is the bitrate nearly enough. For book svcd quality, one would need a 480 x 480 Divx (well, something similar anyways) and about 500-600 kbs. This of co...

Yes, resize first definetely should make all that artifacting much better. I've never re-encoded Divx so I can't speak with complete assurance. Mpeg-1/2 encoders can do nearest-neigbour resize and bitrate encoding in one pass doing one first and then other. Works to same thing. However, any noise in...

WHOOPS! Sorry, I apologize.

The above were general observations with a DVD player that plays (x)VCDs and (x)SVCDs as compared to possibility of Divx on DC.

I fully certify that I know nothing about playing movies on Gyplay or generally DC for that matter.

Well, it's not great

I appreciate the teams effort and I think that the effort is good. One thing, the bitrate is too low. DivX at best is boasted to be a ~4:1 compression ratio. That means: 300 kbs Divx = ~1200 kbs mpeg1 Sure, this is rough around the edges, and mpeg1 could look better with VBR (divx MUST always use mu...
