Re: Asking for help to save our home

My time and finances are pretty much tied up at the moment, mainly due to someone who is suffering from the worst case of small man syndrome that has ever been recorded throughout history, resulting in the displacement of 5.5 million people, and trying to drag the entire human race back into the ea...

Re: Asking for help to save our home

Thanks a lot Bilal, I'll dm you my PayPal address. All of this started over 2 years ago, and it will still take another 6 years for me to fully pay my debts, with the earliest one ending in 5 years. I'm working to create a game because there's a chance it could take less time than that. Fingers cros...

Re: Asking for help to save our home

Any progress with things? I closed the donation campaign because we reached a point where I didn't need to sell the house anymore, but life still is very difficult and I've tried to commit suicide last year. The car is still broken, and I'm still in a lot of debt despite managing to renegotiate som...

Re: Asking for help to save our home

Hey man, I know the feeling, I am glad you have a wife that believes in you. I'll contribute what I can when I get paid towards the end of the month. I'll also share with a few friends. Have faith, don't give up. Btw, the lady in the middle is your sister who just had surgery? Thanks. She's our dau...

Asking for help to save our home

Things have been extremely difficult since last year, and now I'm having to turn to everyone I know to ask for help. This week I've released the engine I've been working on for the last years: Graphical breakthroughs in the Retroquad engine . As explained in the article, my life is reaching a dead e...

Developer Really Hoping You Forgot About Those Kickstarter Rewards

LEBANON, Ky. — The development team behind the upcoming indie game ALBATROSS, which received a huge influx of cash from a successful Kickstarter campaign more than six years ago, is reportedly hoping that users have forgotten about their promised pledge rewards. The campaign for ALBATROSS, a metroi...

Re: Full version Quake on 10th anniversary disc?

Does JoyMenu work with your full version PAKs? If so, type "registered 1" in JoyConsole and see if it works, because it may be that the "registered" cvar is being manually set to zero in one of the config files from this compilation. If JoyMenu is not working with your full versi...

Makaqu 1.5.2

Announcement & download . This is a continuation of the "is there any interest in an updated Quake engine" thread. The changes in this version are mostly optimizations to improve performance on the Dreamcast, and making several non-essential effects optional & disabled by default....

Re: Is there any interest in an updated Quake engine?

Done: Faster BSP z-buffer rendering Faster surface cache drawing Lightmap dithering on surface caches - this is only calculated when lighting changes, so the impact on performance won't be noticeable Still left: Faster texture rendering (for BSP, SPR & MDL models) Faster sky rendering (with no b...

There's nothing in the BootDreams page, not even a download link. The links in the forums are dead.

Re: Is there any interest in an updated Quake engine?

I'm working on Makaqu again, backporting all the good improvements from the 1.5.1 and 1.6 versions into the 1.3.1 version. Unstable and memory-heavy stuff like color management features (multiple fullbright settings, etc.) won't be backported. The point is to create a more updated version of Makaqu ...

You could try outputting debug messages to a VMU save file.

Re: Project Works on Emulators; Black Screen on Hardware

Did you scramble the binary before making the CD image?

The DC only boots scrambled binaries. Boot discs such as DCHakker and emulators can boot both scrambled and unscrambled binaries.

Re: Makaqu 1.5.1

Hmm I see there WAS a 1.6 release, wonder what was changed and if mankrip is stil around? The 1.6 release had better 50Hz support, with autodetection (IIRC previous releases required manually configuring the .ini file). It also has an older version of the procedural particles featured in Retroquad ...

Re: Can someone upload a mini game to my VMU card for me?

Some VMU files have a copy protection flag, I don't remember if VMU games use it.

If you mention where you live, people nearby may be more willing to help.
