i'm the guy who ported [d]colem to the dc the problem you're talking about is a stupid bug in the controller emulation. I lost the sourcecode to [d]colem some months ago which means that there won't be a new version of this emulator. well that and the fact that there's just not enough interest anymo...

Ignore the plain file release, i forgot to add the font file.

hmm I think you should forget Pascal or Visual Basic.
Start with a simple (Internet) Scripting Language like PHP.
This should get you started with the basics of programming.
Then you could move over to C/C++

Java is also recommended ;)

R9 is the newest you can get on the net afaik, but it's useless because there's no modem support.
KOS is way easier to handle for the rest you may need to develop for the DC.
