Re: What ever happened to DCShooter?

The dream is dead? How sad. What projects are still in development for the dreamcast?

Re: Guitar Hero Rumours...

A guitar hero clone on the dreamcast would be awesome. Should be called DCHero.

What ever happened to the Holly 3D engine?

http://a128.atspace.com/holly3d/index.html http://www.dreamcast-scene.com/index.php/Main/Holly First, I am sorry if this has been asked multiple times. I have been away from this forum for about 1 year. What ever happened to this project? I remember when the news about this engine came out, I though...

and now on the 2x, snes emulation at 6-15 fps? is it me, or is that very very sad for a 2005 machine? Is it just me, or isn't this the natural progress of a homebrew emulator? Emulators are not fullspeed from the start. If any one should understand this, it should be people in this scene. Homebrew ...

The joystick is garbage and the headphone socket is faulty. We're sending it back :/ Lots of promises.. very little action, it seems: -We were promised a working USB connection -We were promised looser joysticks (with a method to unstick those which remain too tight) We're now being promised fixes ...

NOWKA = did you not see the video. To be more exact, I never watched the whole video. Wow, that would have been awesome. Sorry, i should have watched the whole video before asking. So the two reasons for not releasing this game was the 9/11 attacks and the fact that sega would not make a profit fro...

Was this game going to have an AFO voice chat system? Cause I remember hearing that it was going to, but I can't remember from where.

I was always annoyed that this game never came out, it looked really good.

Wow, so far I am surprised by those results. Even though those types of polls are far from scientific, those are very dc friendly results.

Either people kinda still like the dc, or the fans of the dc are voting like mad

I hate these types of topics. I love the dreamcast, and currently it and the Genesis are the only consoles I play, but to compare it to the ps2 isn't right. We really do not know what the dc is capable of, and guessing doesn't help. Who knows what konani, square, or capcom (if they put their minds t...

So, this is supposedly much faster than the old dc sdl port. Is there any indication of how much faster? Is there a benchmark, or comparison that shows how much faster it can be?

The answer to that question is no. The arm processor that handles the dc's audio has no cache (I believe) and is connected only to the sound ram, which is only 2 MB. While the chip is faster than the gba's, the memory accessing would more than negate that speed making it useless.
