Well

I got mine today. And even though I wrote the game, I'm rather impressed. I forgot how good the art looked in print.

Anyway, I'm gearing up to release the first Inhabitants DC bonus pack soon. Clear off a VMU for some extra tile goodness ;)

I figured someone would comment on the music sooner or later. Well I guess it *was* commented on when the winners for DreamOn were announced ;)

That's why once the game loads, you can swap in your favorite audio CD or a CD with OGG files in the root and it will play them.

Enjoy

PHP Skillz?

Well, I'll do whatever I can from my position here on the east coast to make sure there is another MWGC. If you need any PHP work done, I'll gladly help, considering it's one of my hobbies.

You know where to reach me, Dan ;)

Hrm...

Here is my question, though, maybe Rand or someone can answer it. Ok, first off, here is my understanding of how the DC MIL-CD format works. 1) you have an audio session, containing one or more audio CD tracks. 2) You have a data session, containing a mostly standard ISO filesystem, except that the ...

Screens

You can check out some screenshots of the full build at http://www.sevensoupcans.com/inhab_screens/ There are not any new tiles in the demo, but there are many more tilesets in the full vesrion. More music, new gameplay modes, 4 player multiplayer, the ability to swap out the Inhabitants CD for an a...

Inhabitants Demo Version

Greetings all. Since we're getting closer to the release date of Inhabitants, I thought it might be fun to release a demo version of the game. It contains 3 levels of Normal and Challenge mode in both scoring variations, and two player multiplayer over one board. I feel it gives you a good tatse of ...

Ok, this is odd. The full version of Inhabitants works fine when I make it into an ISO and run it through Chankast. It runs way too fast, too. And for some reason, it thinks my US bios is not, and gives me the 50/60 hz switch. Odd.

Inhabitants uses the PVR for drawing 2d stuff. And the final build uses threading, it sticks on a loading screen just like FoF.

Keep in mind that the transfer rate of a serial cable is slow as, well, its just very slow. Once you start adding in lots of graphics, it can take 5 to 10 minutes to upload to test it. I would suggest doing what I did with Inhabitants, burning a Multi-session CD that contains the graphics and such, ...

S+F Software ports

Well, one more of the games is going to be ported to the DC, and we will show it off at the MGC. We're also begining preliminary work on a game for the GBA. There are lots of the games I'd love to port over to the DC, but the main problems are 1) time, and 2) art. We don't have the source to all the...

Well...

While I'm not able to give any details, there have been pre-orders for the games. So there is good interest. We're going to have some fun up at the MGC promoting the thing. I know I'm partial to Inhabitants, but its got a lot more gameplay than the beta version that's out there, and looks better, to...

Well, I don't know how good kGL is, but if you just ignore the SDL stuff, and port it over to KOS native libs, you could probably do this.

If I had more time, I might give it a shot, although I know next to nothing about 3d ;)

*shrug*

Wish I could be of more help, but if it's getting that far, at least it's running. I don't know exactly whats going on with it. Hopefully the new version will work much better than that.

No chance of it being ported, because the damn thing is in game maker. Not bad for that though. It would be nice to get a good original oldschool platformer running on the dc though.

You got it from the right place. Actually, it shouldn't matter. You might try unplugging any memcards or VMU's to see if it loads then. Also make sure you have at least one controller plugged in ;) Uh, if that still does not work, I don't know what to say. What type of unit are you using? PAL, NTSC,...

Stepmania...

I looked into porting StepMania a while back. It is a very nice, but very complex piece of software. I doubt that with the currently available tools that it would be possible. But hey, who knows.

Inhabitants

Uploading Inhabitants as we speak.

A shame I didnt get to add everything I'd hoped by the deadline, but the build I'm submitting is rather nice, even if I say so myself.

Anyways, I don't care who wins what. I just think it's great to see such support of the DC homebrew community.

Anyways
