Omigosh...I don't know if I can write a tutorial for this, I already gave the thing to my friend today. I think the thing (with and without the chip) is explained here http://www.dcemulation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1782 And if you download any of the circuit diagrams from the links people have pos...

My VGA box from scratch!

http://www.angelfire.com/gundam/geoffnaked/DCVGA_1.html I never thought to order a RGB cable when I bought my VGA box, so I made a Dreamcast connector from two S-video cables...Now that I think about it, someone may have done this before me, but the extra wire on the connector looks pretty funny. A...

It might seem like a good price, until you get to calculating the shipping costs. I was about to buy some VGA boxes and VGA cables from xinga, but getting two of each shipped was going to cost over $20. You're probably better off buying a A/V selector locally.

Need custom VGA cable help

I was just wondering if I were to build a VGA cable (not box) & VGA select switch for a custom A/V port (soldered directly onto the motherboard), is it possible to omit the 74HCT244 integrated circuit, or is it absolutely crucial to the H & V sync?

If you are direct soldering and making a custom serial port (or AV port)
the pin connections really don't matter, just make a note of which DC pin connects to which PC serial pin, and get it to the proper pin on the other side. If I got a spare DC I would try the custom AV port for sure.

GameCube controller mods, help!

Does anybody remember the link for GameCube controller mods? Specifically I need info or a tutorial on the Z button relocation mod.
Thanks.

Component to VGA converter?

I've pretty much given up on building a DC VGA box because I'm too lazy to order the cables with the necessary pins and stuff. I have a PS2 and eventually will get a GameCube, I was wondering if it's possible to build some sort of VGA box which takes S-video (bit of a stretch?) or component inputs, ...

Yeah I bought my first (and currently only) GBA regular like a month or two after the SP came out. I really love it. My main reasons for getting the regular were so that I wouldn't need to recharge it when the batteries run out, and also flash card compatibility. I am thinking of getting an Afterbur...

Yeah, the 1st party N64 sticks were pretty flimsy. Plus I have ultra-sweaty palm syndrome, and the N64 controller gives me NO airspace around my palms to cool down when I'm holding the grips. I also have the same problem with the Dreamcast controller, the handles are pretty big. Argh. Back to the to...

Haha, more like GBA is PWNED by everyone!!! Okay that was lame...and I'm just kidding anyway, I happen to own a GBA, and love it :) Anyway, the PSX looks expensive...I'm happy with my PS2, especially since I just spray painted it, it's like a whole new system. PSX. Probably not for everyone, I don't...

I bet a ton of people have done this already, but I should mention a nicer quick and dirty way to paint shells instead of putting them on the floor. If you're spraying in a garage, it's way easier to dangle the thing from the ceiling, so you can spray all around it easily, you'll only need to fix a ...

The NES has A/V ports on the side, doesn't it?

Maybe you can stick a CD-ROM in the cartridge slot, and then mod the case so the LAN ports come out where the A/V are?

Yeah that's what I just did, cut out 1/16" strips from a VHS label and stuck it over the lettering, but I'm wondering I someone could actually cut them out of the case and make glowing neon light lettering BTW I think one more coat of silver ought to do it for my PS2, then I'll put a clear coat...
