I think it would be really neat to see some homebrew SCUMM-based games. I don't think there are any programs to make SCUMM games, but there is a program to write SCI games , which you could then run in FreeSCI on the Dreamcast I imagine. SCI is sort of halfway between text adventure and SCUMM thoug...

If you're looking to create an adventure game that you can play on the Dreamcast... you can always make a text adventure that runs in Frotz, or you can make a ZZT world and play it in DreamZZT. I'm guessing neither of those is quite what you're looking for though. Other than that, you can also make ...

SDL Advice Needed...
A long time ago, I wrote a little game for Unix called XRoads , which was a remake of an old C-64 type-in game called Crossroads (An old favorite of mine, it's sort of like a chaotic, multi-player Pac-Man with a gun). When I originally wrote the game, I used bare X11 calls to do the graphics, but re...

By the way, SuperTux is the game of the month (In fact, the first game of the month ever) over at The Linux Game Tome . What this means, is that the game will be singled out for improvement by whoever wants to contribute to the project. Hopefully by the end of the month the game will have some great...

Is nxDoom still alive?
A long time ago, when I first started getting into DC emulators and such, I was interested in setting this up on a disc, but some posts by BlackAura seemed to imply that he was still working on it, and that a new version might be around the corner... so I left it alone, figuring there was no sense i...

Unfortunately, Smeg does not make use of Rockridge extensions, so you're stuck with the ISO9660 filename limit, which is 31 characters (including the period before the extension I think). Not only that, but filenames are limited to lowercase alphanumeric characters and underscores... so if you have ...

Will MAMEDC run Neo-Geo games? Yes, but keep in mind that the Dreamcast doesn't have a lot of memory, so the only games that even have a possibility of running are the very early NeoGeo games. You might be able to play Magician Lord and Bust-A-Move, but you will never be able to play Metal Slug. At...

If you're looking for NeoGeo emulators, MDCNG and MAME itself are the only Dreamcast ones. On the PC, there is also GnGeo, Kawaks, NeoRageX, and of course, MAME. If you're looking for NeoGeo roms... then expect this topic to get locked might fast. Rom requests are not allowed here (read the forum ru...

most of the 4x-16x vmus I've ever seen have a button to switch between memory banks each bank is just a regular 200 block vmu. So its just like having several vmus not a huge one with excess space. As far as I know, there are no VMU's for the Dreamcast that can show more than 200 blocks at a time. ...
