Thats right.

All solder does is conduct electricity and hold things in place. As long as the legs of the LED are making contact with the PCB trace, things will work.

Have you burnt up the trace on the back side of the controler board? I did a botch job on one set that I had, nothing too serious. I rebuilt the trace with a piece of wire. Why not take a dry run at the mod. De-solder what you have in there now and clean up as much solder as you can. Solder sticks t...

Looks good. Yours shows the same problem as mine. The crack of light on the left side (this picture) of the jack. Ive been thinking of filling mine in, ive used drywall putty and pain before. Worked great and was easy to remove and re-apply when needed.

Whats hooked up in your serial port there?

Do yourself a favor and use a VGA setup for all your consoles. Either mod each console for VGA or take the "noob" route and buy an upscan converter.

Once you go VGA you will never go back to TV, trust me!

Thinking about it [the oscillator] now, I don't think the NC pin is needed. From what I know, NC should translate to Normally Closed (like switches and relays). But I can't be sure, im learning right along with the rest of us.

Thanks.

Back from the dead...

Tried to overclock my Dreamcast. Long story short, I could not get it to work. Im thinking I had built my oscillator circuit all ass backwards or somthing!?! The LED would light up and the fan would spin, but no audio/video action or GD-ROM activity. Happens when the switch is in either position. I ...

Good stuff. I was never concerned with snapping it off, even without the retainer clips the hood still fits snug when slid into the tracks on the the modular jack. I don't think any normal wear and tear would ever dislodge that hood. Have you gotten this mod completed? If so, got any finished produc...

Do you have to power the crystal/oscillator or simply pass the clock signal through the crystal/oscillator and back to its original solder pad?

Thats what ive been assuming the entire time.

Thanks.

This OC mod reads like stereo instructions. Why has this procedure not been simplified? The devcast site tells me nothing, if it does have the correct information it is so cryptic that I don't know what is going on. Lift the 33mhz clock pin and do what with it? Take the 33mhz signal, put it into the...

I just went through all the settings on this camera, no macro function at all. Just some exposure, burst, lighting blah blah blah.

Now I know when looking to buy a new digital camera to make sure it has a macro function. But im sure most over $100 would!

After looking around a few digital camera sites, thats what come up most of the time. It says you should really get to know the ins and outs of your digital camera. Seeing as the one im using now isn't mine, ill just have to do the trial and error thing. Im sure this camera doesn't even have a macro...

You know the wires that connect to your motherboard, the ones like HDD LED, Reset, Keylock and so on? Those gauge of wire are just right. Anything smaller and soldering becomes a a pain in the ass. There is plenty of room inside of the modem to solder.

Anyone know if this works with the BBA?

I just use whatever wires worked. Small enough that I could close the metal sheilding piece without severing the wires.

The dongle does not work with games. It works with the MS Dashboard and other dashboards/applications. You can't buy the dongles, I made that one. I did however get my inspiration from the SmartXX modchip. They have a dongle just like that for flashing the modchip. I notice a lot of Xbox questions a...
