Sega want to sell as many games as possible, and Shadow the Hedgehog was one of their most successful games of the last few years. Sure, you may not like it, hardcore Sonic fans may not like it, but all that Sega cares about are game sales. They invested time, money and effort into epics like Shenmu...

Re: Sonic Team
This game sold pretty well, though. Some reviewers gave it low scores, but the user scores on IGN are between 7.1 and 7.5 for all three platforms, which isn't that bad.BILAL_XIA wrote:Shadow The Hedhehog General Rating Under 5/10

This means they actually do make money on console sales, though probably not a much compared to their portables and their first party software. Money is money, regardless of how much. True, but if you cannot hang on to a significant portion of the market retailers will eventually drop your products...

Who cares what their market share is? Nintendo have made profits off of every console they've ever sold. Nintendo even make profit in their bad years, which is not the case with MS or Sony's gaming divisions. Revenue - Cost is what matters, everything else (like market share) is just fluff. Current...

The same Mrs. soccer mom who gets phreaked out when she has to somehow wire up the console/pc to the router using cables? You don't *have* to wire up the console to the internet at all. At least I hope not, that would be rather silly. Does anyone know any statistic of the % of, say, xbox players th...

That being said, I still think the $250 price is reasonable. To us seasoned gamers, possibly, but Nintendo want to appeal to the mass market. In order to do that they need to price it accordingly. Otherwise they're positioning the Wii as a competitor to the 360, and I don't think that's a battle th...

If they wanted a cheaper console they should have gotten rid of the non-essential parts. They want this to be a family console, but Mrs. soccer mom probably doesn't even know what Wifi means. Right now Nintendo only hold a very small portion of the console market (not counting handhelds of course). ...

The only example I know of that does 3D using the PVR API directly is the 2nd mix demo. It's part of the KOS examples. That may be of some help. EDIT: The stretching is caused by the PVR applying depth to the texture image. But it won't project the vertices for you. They will remain at the (x, y) lo...

In my opinion the main problem with the Wii is that it's overpriced for their intended target audience. In europe it'll cost about $315, which isn't something you casually pick up while grocery shopping. I think Microsoft will drop the price of the 360 core package to the price of the Wii. And the W...
