I like #19, the only real reason the medium is too small is due to a lack of compression able to be used by developers for their games (it being used for a console) and because they can't install anything. As they say "a bad workman blames his tools".

You're kinda looking at the wrong end of things, it's the graphics card that deals with the resolution really, the monitor just displays it (if it can handle the refresh rate and things). Anyway as far as I know most modern cards can handle a max of 1600x1200, as for monitors they should follow suit...
