I'm a bit late on this one but that reminds me of those interactive 'desktop' programs that were popular in the pre-win95 days.Jeeba Jabba wrote:girlfriend just walked in on me setting this up.

Re: New KOS Keyboard driver. Testing needed.
The basic idea of most of my rewrite is that the keyboard already delivers raw data to KOS in a very easily consumable format, one that would be extremely simple to use for games without key up events (and no more difficult than the matrix system for those without) so why have all this extra proces...

Re: New KOS Keyboard driver. Testing needed.
Ah - 2 vs 1 vs 0 wasn't explained very well... probably because it was an internal part of the driver and shouldn't be relied on. Yes, I do see how tracking the events would mean less work, but that still leaves us with key repeats. Every game I've seen source to that works with a keyboard turns of...

Re: What happened to Yahoo?
The biggest thing Google introduced was its AdWords advertising system for profit generation. Older search engines had to use standard-y banner ads and have huge content systems to make these ads work. With AdWords, Google doesn't have to contribute any content to the internet itself, it just puts a...

Re: New KOS Keyboard driver. Testing needed.
You can get key up by taking the difference between the current and last pressed key states. To me this seems just as good as scanning through a matrix (with MUCH less work on the backend). Any key that is not in the set of currently pressed keys is now 'up' as opposed to having to search for every ...

New KOS Keyboard driver. Testing needed.
Last November I started (and finished ...ish) working on a revamped keyboard driver for KOS. I was motivated to do this by a message and patch left on the KOS sourceforge page by Alex Nesemann. He had wanted to add key-repeating functionality to the KOS keyboard driver so that it would behave more l...

Re: US soldier admits killing unarmed Afghans for sport
We didn't want Germans in Britain so we fought them. If you don't want western armies in the middle-east you know what you gotta do. Can't? Won't? Oh well. That's war. Countries like Russia and China will happily complain, but they don't care enough to help. That's life I'm afraid. If my country wa...

Re: Modern Linux Kernels
I don't know anything about compiling the Linux Kernel, but the DC's chip is part of the 7550 series. The exact model number *is* 7091 (or 7091R depending on the manufacture date), but that is simply the proprietary flavor that reflects the exact model. As far as I know, the differences are all eith...

Re: Unknown (to me) Dreamcast box
Seller responded saying that he bought a DC shortly after launch, and within a month it was broken. He sent it back to SEGA and they sent him a brand new one in that box. So not refurbished, but just factory direct or something.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Sega-Dreamcast-Console-24-Games-Accessories-MINT-/180632948361?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a0e900e89 The auction is mostly unremarkable, except for the box that the Dreamcast comes with. I've never seen that style of box before. Does anyone here know anything about it? ht...

Re: does amybody know about updating mp3 player firmware? ebay
I don't think you'll be able to find any help with that. Unless a manufacturer provides information, or you have advanced skills or equipment odds are you won't be able to do it. There's a good chance that the thing doesn't even have a read/write firmware, it might be a rom.

Re: New Dreamcast SD Adapter on sale at Chinese website
We decided not to manufacture them, got a budget and it wasn't going to get any cheaper than the chinese ones including shipping lol, they are really cheap. These were available back when dreamcast es promoted their own SD adapters? I thought the reason they weren't made back then was no source for...

Re: New Dreamcast SD Adapter on sale at Chinese website
The big benefit is the ability to have large rewritable storage that can be read near universally. The VMU can hold a max of 128k (100k usable) and it is very very difficult to get data on/off the VMU (especially without a Dreamcast, and serial cable or BBA). Having this allows for all sorts of home...

=*( Oh the guilt. Last thing done on this was realizing that I had screwed up my components because the schematic was in a sort of shorthand, so I had been leaving out a lot of necessary connections.

When you have something that's just inserting it's possible that he just took any connector with the right pin stride and used padding on the back to keep it in the socket. My idea had been to use a vga-box or scart connector with all its pins and just chop off the extra ones. The two connectors wor...

Yea, the biggest reason that cygwin is preferred (afaik) is because everyone else uses it so it's easier to find people to assist in setup.
Good job on this.

So what is the best bet on buying these things, anything better than buyrfromtaobao? I think that a part of it may be recovery from the .org shift. From when your data starts there were very very few links to .org. Now most of the dead sites that only linked to the old .com are gone, and many more links to us exist. Plus what you said of other sites simply fading away.
