you can only pre-load via steam on some games. I was under the impression you were copying it all from a CD or someone else computer.

I have HL:Source downloaded but next to it has something like "Click to purchase" on my games list. I'm guessing that is what it will do.

no, you can preload yourself if you have the files but only if the steam server reconsies you have bought the game in someway. Most 3rd party steam backup tools work by just compressing your files in your steam directory then putting them back after you format or do what ever. If you try to put on f...
